(Almost) the easiest way of making (half a) million dollars

You have to hand it to Sala (he/she?). It's the ultimate expression of the 'limited edition print', I guess - except they're not, they're all handpainted canvases, about a foot square. I like the notion of these having a different 'price' and 'value' at the moment of being sold.

Envious of the bastard who bought "1"; although, you'd probably best be served by taking the 10% discount for bulk purchase of 1 - 100 and not give up the discount.

Maybe if we pool our 5¢ and bought #254 (the Sept 11th day of the year) we could paint a red Ø on it and bid it out on eBay. Oops, too late. Sold already -- okay, maybe "297" (or, 10/24) (Okay, that's silly)

I think it's a great concept (very Constructivist), but I don't think the path to riches is any easier than for any other artist looking to sell 1,000 paintings. Making money as an artist is very much about publicity and circus.

It's not quite as good as the guy who sold off his website one pixel at a time... but it's still pretty good.

This is the thing I find hard to understand about 'art', particularly this modern stuff; a foot-square canvas with the number 37 painted on it is valued (by the person who proposes to do the painting) at $963 but you can buy it now for $577.80. Tell you what; I'll paint one for $250. In fact, I'll do you a number 1 for only $500. Why is that different? It's just wallpaper. Why is this guy's foot-square canvas with '1' on it more valuable than his foot-square canvas with '37' on it? More to the point, why is this guy's foot-square canvas with '1' on it more valuable than my foot-square canvas with '1' on it? I really don't get it.

What amuses me is this idea of self-valuation - or actually, valuation by algorithm, which is what it is. Why is the number '324' worth more than the number '397'? Sure, sell it to the highest bidder - but what does this 'value' figure really mean? Not a lot, shirley. It's just part of the circus, as far as I can tell. Still, good luck to the guy/girl.

In this case, I share your sentiment entirely. However, insofar as art is supposed to express ideas and act as a mirror of the world, I think there's something valid about this. Valid, but not original. Why are we still stuck on the same artistic record as we were since Warhol did Soup?

It's been done, we know already. Can't we find *any* new ideas anymore?

Oh, and if anyone's thinking about it, I'll do a 'One' for $200.

$200!!! - How about this - I'll type any number you like between 1 and 1000 for only $10. You can even have a free sample:507

Hold on, hold on - I'm cutting me own froat 'ere. For a measly $5, I'll do you all the numbers (integers mind) between 1 and 1000 - right here - typed up for your pleasure. Can't say fairer than that now can ya? Whole banch'a nambas! Get 'em while they're rational!

Pi is good. I have a Pi girly tee shirt and a Pi coffee mug.

Art is in the mind of the beholder... oh.... wait.... that's beauty...

Creativity is art.... it's all subjective.....

I won't sell my art. I only share it or give it away.
