Indian billionaire builds urban Tracy Island

...well, that's what it reminded me of.

"According to the plan, the house will rise to a height of 173.12 meters, equivalent to that of a regular 60-storeyed residential building. However, Antilia will have only 27 storeys in all, which means each floor will have a ceiling considerably higher than the current average of nearly three meters."

The first six floors are for parking. It will also have 'refuge floors' spaced throughout it, so that people can temporarily shelter from the enormousness of their dwelling.

Must have the tales of king Solomon indelibly stamped on his mind.

HA! Take refuge from your dwelling. I bet Paris Hilton feels that way right about now. : )

Quite a common theme in science fiction stories. Someone has proposed something similar for NYC - a building that essentially consists of townhouses stacked one on top of another. complete with gardens. I have to believe that, as with flying cars, there is some very good reason they aren't already widespread.

"Antilia (as the house is going to be called, after a mythical island)..." - and not because it sounds like "ant hill"?

Why on earth would anyone *not* build one of these?

It's Mukesh Ambani's mansion under construction in Mumbai. He's India's wealthiest individual, followed by his brother, Anil Ambani.

The legend of Antilia is interesting.

No mention of the location of the death ray in the plans then?
How many floors does the fluffy white cat get?
